For the benefit of those who have recently joined us on the Motorhead Message Central, here are some pointers on participating in this forum:
General Topic Issues

  1. Don't SPAM, This forum is for information sharing and discussion not for marketing and sales. However, sometimes participants help each other out sourcing parts.
  2. Mind your manners, This isn't a Chevy-vs-Ford-vs-MoPar-vs-AMC-vs-Jeep... forum. Most if not all of the existing participants have some level of interest in just about any and everything that has wheels and an engine (hell, some of 'em don't even have wheels!).
  3. Read the Archives, this forum has been in existence since 1996. There is a wealth of information that has already been discussed. Often a new guy comes in and asks a question that has just been discussed ad nauseum a week or so earlier.
  4. Read the instructions for using the forum.
  5. Leave the CAPS button off. Typing in all CAPS is considered yelling on the internet.
  6. When responding to (somewhat) lengthy posts, snip the previous post down to just the point(s) that you are responding to. It makes for easier readability.
  7. Learn from others, there are several bona fide experts in several disciplines of rod building and mechanics here. Heed their advice. They've saved all of us tons of grief and money on personal projects and they'll gladly do the same for you.
  8. When asking questions, give as much information as possible. More information will help respondents give a more accurate solution. A question like "My car goes PFFFFFFZZZZZZZT when I step on the brakes, what's wrong?" probably isn't even going to get a response.
  9. BE SAFE! This is probably the only thing that everyone on this forum will agree on. We've heard several stories of close calls and even some fatalities working in the shop. None of us wants to be the subject of the next disaster story.
  10. Have fun. While this is a forum for the sharing of serious information regarding rod building and use, we do like to joke around a lot too.
  11. If you type as badly as most of us do, you might want to proofread your posts before hitting the OK button
