The melting point of 4130 in 2610 F. I found a listing that says porcelain is 3275 F. What temp is a tig with ac current capable of?

I'm a skeptic so I tried for just a little bit. I couldn't get it to strike an arc. I only tried once not knowing what might happen. Smile

I don't know welding from diddle , but I always thought that porcelain was an insulator & won't conduct electricity... Confused Think of the porcelain insulators on hi-tension power lines ... Confused
