| Actually sent a kid to the front office today to pick up a can of plaid spray paint. His classmates saw the humor in it, this kid had just called another student stupid a few minutes before. Had to show him the error in his judgement

That's awesome!!
When I was a parts runner back in the late 80's one of the deliveries I made was a couple of cans of compression. My boss had the cans made up to look quite real just for these requests.

Yup! Add another one to the list with muffler belt, blinker fluid, carpet switch, etc.

in the printing trade we get sent for "paper stretchers"
a friend told me about it so when i was sent for it i hid out in the cafeteria for a while. when the guy who sent me came to look for me i told him i was told to wait there for it. he knew he'd been had and just started laughing. we then went back to work
later jim

They used to send the apprentices to the store for a "long weight".. the storesman always asked how long a "wait" the kid wanted, 15, 30 or 45.. The kid would then have to return to the tradesman & ask, then return to stores with the answer.. Which would depend on how well the tradesman liked him
